Week 4 post 1: Identify target market

The difference between Hungry Bear Deli and Subway, the large the biggest difference is the fact one company is a franchise and the other is not.  Subway being a franchise it is to appeal to everyone hungry for a sandwich across the world. The Vista Hungry Bear Deli is marketing to the local people mainly and maybe getting tourists to vista if they are in the Vista area.  The demographics for each are also different as Subway likes to appeal to the people that are on a budget and want a sandwich with all their advertisements on 5 dollar footlongs. The bear deli is not marketing as a cheaper food they are marketing as great quality and you get what you pay for.  The prices in the sandwiches are easily 6 dollars or more, with that being said the group you appeal to is based on the budget of the person. The Bear Deli is also claiming to be the best sub shop in all of San Diego versus subways advertisements at one point were about weight loss, now it is about 5 dollar subs.

The most obvious differences when looking at the page are that Subway images are fake and staged compared to Bear Deli making sure the pictures are of the actual sandwiches and their quality.  When you see the difference between the web pages to me it is clear where I am going to eat.  Subway is known worldwide, but Bear Deli is known in Vista and is much better quality.

The crossover between the two websites customers will be people that are looking for sandwiches or subs for a meal.  The crossover can also apply to the local people of Vista and surrounding cities.  It may venture down to southern San Diego California but that is a stretch. From both pages, I can gather that the customers are hungry and looking specifically for subs and sandwiches.  You can also gather that people are willing to order their food online before they go and get it.  They also both may appeal to corporate events as they provide catering services.  Subway definitely is making a play currently in the Football community with all the football references on the page.  The Bear Deli seems to keep their page the same no matter the time of year as it doesn't have anything to do with sports mentioned on the page. I also want to point out that both pages have easy to understand and navigate the pages.  Nothing too complicated about either page.
